"John W. Coleman - BOYDTON - John Wesley Coleman, 79, died Saturday in a Richmond hospital. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Campbell Coleman; four daughters, Mrs. James Wyne of Boydton, Mrs. Sidney Allgod of Buffalo Junction, Mrs. A. D. Bevell of Broadnax and Mrs. Ernest Whitby of La Crosse; and two sons, S. W. Coleman of Bracey and Leroy Coleman of Chase City. A funeral service was held Monday in the Boydton Presbyterian Church Cemetery."

Mrs. Sarah Coleman - BOYDTON - Mrs. Sarah C. Coleman, 83, widow of John W. Coleman, died Friday, November 12, in a South Boston hospital. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Maude Allgood of Buffalo Junction, Mrs. Shirley Wynne of Boydton, Mrs. Eula Whitby of La Crosse, and Mrs. Lena Bevell of Broadnax; two sons, Sam W. Coleman of Boydton and Leroy Coleman of Chase City; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Berry of Boydton, Mrs. Allie Allgood of Chase City, and Mrs. Mary Bowman of South Boston; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon at Boydton Presbyterian Church Cemetery."

"John Averette - SKIPWITH - John A. "Buster" Averette, 75, of Rt.1, Skipwith, died Wednesday evening, July 10, 1985, at Halifax-South Boston Community Hospital, South Boston. He was the son of the late Eddie and Berta Coleman Averette. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Florence N. Averette; two sons, William G. Averette of Chase City and Wayne D. Averette of Skipwith; one brother, Luther Averette of Clarksville; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Clifford of Bullock, N.C.; and four grandchildren. A funeral service was held Friday afternoon at New Hope Baptist Church, Skipwith with burial in the church cemetery. Bevell Funeral Service, Chase City, was in charge of arrangements."
